Why this Friday is Good

All around the world today Christians celebrate Good Friday, a remembrance of Jesus of Nazareth's crucifixion at the hands of Roman and Jewish authorities. What is the meaning of His death for us today?

Three-and-one-half millennia past, the God of Israel, "I AM" (YHWH), appeared to a man named Moses, calling him to lead His people out of slavery in Egypt and to a land promised generations earlier to their ancestor Abraham.

The pharoah would not allow Israel to leave to worship as they wished, despite being at the receiving end of a number of destructive plagues. The last and most devastating judgment against Egypt would be the death of all firstborn males in the land.

In His providence, God directed the people of Israel to slaughter a male lamb and to place its blood around their doorposts. When the Angel of Death passed over, it would see the blood and harm no one inside. All those who did not have the lamb's blood over them lost their firstborn. There was a devastating (and unnecessary) loss of life.

Israel was commanded to remember God's Passover forever.

Fifteen hundred years later, God provided another Lamb Whose blood would save us from eternal death.

This Passover Lamb Who was slaughtered once-for-all is Jesus the Christ, the Messiah promised to Israel and foreshadowed by the lambs of the first Passover.

By His death we have life. It is His sacrifice for us we remember today.

An American court orders the death of an innocent

All legal technicalities aside, the Schiavo case boils down to one issue: an American court has ordered the death of an innocent (and defenseless) woman.

The American Declaration of Independence argues that God gives all people the rights to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. The American Constitution guarantees to all its citizens that neither Life, Liberty, nor property can be taken from them without due process.

If Mrs. Schiavo were a pedophile, or a murderer, or an abortionist, those calling for her death by dehydration and starvation would be protesting for her to have all legal options explored in preserving her life. A convict on Death Row would have all legal avenues exhausted and still many "kind-hearted" liberals would be arguing for a stay of execution.

This act of injustice is indefensible.

A Dear John (and Ken) Letter

Two popular Southern California radio personalities, John and Ken have, over the course of the past week or so, unrestrainedly expressed their contempt for religion (and the religious) in connection with the Schiavo Right-to-Live case.

In particular, they've repeatedly equated religious faith with irrationality.

It is true that not all religions are morally or rationally sound. It is true that not all who are religious believe on the basis of empirical evidence.

It is irrational to assume, without any examination of a religion or its empirical foundation, that by definition a religion is mythological.

It is irrational to assume, without any investigation as to why a person believes, that he or she is deluded.

One of the great successes of the enemies of God over the last century-and-a-half is the idea in Western culture (among liberals in Academia and the Media) that religion is unscientific, irrational, and anti-intellectual.

This is due to the erosion of confidence in the reliability and accuracy of the Scriptures by lying liberal "theologians" (is that redundant?) and the Darwinists. Too many Christians (in the West) have abandoned this one sure foundation for religious faith.

Rather than arguing what is empirically true (that Darwinism is contrary to Reason and Science; that the Scriptures are historically-reliable documents, and in many cases, eyewitness accounts of actual events; and that America was founded on a thoroughly Christian worldview), Christians have become complacent, ignorant, and cowardly.

There is one religion that is founded on fact, one that is attested to by History, Archaeology, and Reason. That religion is the religion of Moses and the Prophets. It is the religion of Christ and His Apostles.

Deadly bias

ABC News deceptive in Terri Schiavo poll?

I thought it strange to see more than one broadcast today characterize the Schiavo case as involving "Terri's right-to-die."

According the information I've seen, these are the important facts:

-There is no legally-valid, written statement of Mrs. Schiavo's wishes, only her husband's assertion that Terri would have wanted to die in this kind of situation (on which point he contradicted himself when interviewed by Larry King).

-Mr. Schiavo has two children with his mistress.

-A financial settlement to provide for Terri's rehabilitation was won, but Terri has not received such rehabilitation.

-A lawyer for Terri's parents told Terri that her feeding tube would be removed and that she had to say she wanted to live, which Terri tried to do.

-Terri is not in a coma. She is not unresponsive. Neither is she on a life support system.

This is not a case of "Terri's right-to-die;" this is a case of a husband's right to kill his wife.

It is not for Man to decide whether a person's life is no longer worth living, whether a judge or a husband, and it is unconscionable that our nation gives individuals the right to kill the defenseless.

The one on whom Terri should have been able to depend to defend her is the one trying to end her life.

That one judge after another has ruled in favor of her murder should not be a surprise, since each one of these decisions is another in a decades-long tradition of American courts ruling in favor of death.

If millions of children can be murdered by their own mothers (and this defended as a "Constitutional right") what is one "damaged" adult?

That the Mainstream Media are portraying the facts of this case falsely (if not to influence public opinion, then why?) is another example of its leftist, immoral, pro-death agenda.

BBC and IHT suffering from HITS Syndrome

BBC News: Anti-Muslim bias 'spreads' in EU

In what is (hopefully) a severe case of "Head-In-The-Sand" syndrome, the International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights claims that Muslims are unjustifiably "suffering" increased "prejudice" throughout Europe.

Apparently, close contact spreads this disease, since in reporting on it, the BBC fails to add any sort of context to IHT's inexcusable cluelessness (or is it overt propaganda?).

The following statements are symptoms of this potentially fatal disease, followed by my comments...

"In France, the debate over the French law forbidding religious clothing in schools had encouraged discrimination against Muslim women who wear headscarves, the report says.

We are concerned that these developments threaten to undermine positive efforts at integration and further increase the vulnerability of Muslims to human rights violations and marginalisation...."

So, wearing highly-visible garments intended to demonstrate one's separation from the mainstream will help integration?

"In the UK, the report says the media have created the impression that justice officials are successfully prosecuting Muslim terrorists, although only a few people have been convicted and the vast majority of those who are arrested on allegations of terrorism are released without charge."

Isn't any conviction of Islamists a "successful prosecution"? It only took a few individuals to bring down The Towers.

"In Germany meanwhile, more than 80% of those surveyed last year associated the world 'Islam' with 'terrorism' and 'oppression of women'..."

Could that be because the Qur'an commands the faithful to "...kill the unbelievers wherever you find them"? Could that be because Islam allows the beating of one's wife, the treatment of women as chattel, the debasement and subjugation of women, and polygamy?

"...although it was unclear to what extent this resulted in discriminatory behaviour."

That discrimination cannot be determined is a testament to the German people's patience and decency (or their widespread consumption of the BBC).

"It also says that Muslim schools in the Netherlands are widely believed to 'undermine integration efforts" although it says such claims are "poorly supported by facts'."

You wouldn't want facts to get in the way of understanding something affecting the fate of Western Civilization.

"A number of European countries have been engaged in a debate about whether long standing policies of multi-culturalism best serve the minorities involved."

Then the Islamists are winning. The debate should be about whether the integration of those whose god commands them to slaughter the native population best serves the majority.

"Assimilation has been put forward as a means of stopping minorities - and particularly Muslims - from occupying a parallel society that could exclude them from mainstream benefits."

The only assimilation Qur'anic Islam desires is that which will result in the establishment of Shari'a (or that facilitates the killing of infidels), and by then the only option for non-Muslims will be the occupation of "a parallel society that will exclude them from mainstream benefits."

Here's an example of the kind of assimilation in which Islamists are interested, courtesy of an American plotting to assassinate the PotUS: "...al-Qaida leaders gave Abu Ali two options: He could either become part of a martyr operation or he could establish a cell in the United States and he would 'marry a Christian woman, assimilate into the community and he would be provided operatives.'"

"The IHF warns that "growing distrust and hostility" experienced by Muslims and a possible erosion of their confidence in the rule of law could also fuel support for extremist organisations."

Something ought to be done about that which fuels "support for extremist organizations"--how 'bout starting with the Qur'an?

"It also advocates actively promoting tolerance among EU citizens by encouraging debate in the media over how to cover minorities and avoid "perpetuating prejudice", and also recommends the setting up of elected Muslim representative bodies."

Just another step toward the establishment of Shari'a.

Like a lobster in a pot of boiling water, by the time it realizes it's in trouble, it's too late.

"The IHF has a consultative status with the UN and the Council of Europe."

Let's hope they don't listen.

A revealing post at DhimmiWatch lists a number of members of the Council on American-Islamic Relations who have either committed or plotted acts of Jihad, or have expressed sympathy or solidarity with those who do.

More on taqiyya and kitman

In doing a little more reading on taqiyya, or the Islamic practice of deception, I found the following information. This is again an especially difficult doctrine for people of good will, for how are we to distinguish between those Muslims who are truly peaceful and those who only appear peaceful?

From history:

"During the Spanish inquisition, Sunni Moriscos attended mass and returned home to wash their hands of the ‘holy water’. In operational terms, taqiyya and kitman allowed the ‘mujahadeen ’ to assume whatever identity was necessary to fulfill their mission; they had doctrinal and theological and later jurisprudential sanction to pretend to be Jews or Christians to gain access to Christian and Jewish targets: ‘the mujahadeen can take the shape of the enemy’."

And

"Al Taqiyya is with tongue only; not the heart. A believer can make any statement as long as the ‘heart is comfortable'. The 9/11 terrorists lived and visited in the United States for two years before the 9/11 attacks. How did they acculturate? By the use of taqiyya. Meaning: I hate you but I smile at you-in public."

A Christian should know better than to try to justify any lie. Jesus said that the devil "was a liar and a murderer from the beginning and there is no truth in him."

The skilful use of taqiyya and kitman was often a matter of life and death against enemies; it is also a matter of life and death to many contemporary Islamic terrorists. As so often in the history of Islam, a theological doctrine became operational.

The theory and practice of counter terrorism would be counter productive, indeed pointless, and even harmful, without reference to taqiyya and kitman and the crucial role of deception ranging from Islamic jurisprudence to Al Qaeda training manuals, which carry detailed instructions on the use of deception by terrorists in Western target countries.

According to Christian ethics lying is a sin; In Islamic jurisprudence and theology, the use of taqiyya against the unbelievers is regarded as a virtue and a religious duty.

Suspect Said to Admit Plan to Kill Bush

If it weren't disturbing enough that an American citizen is also an Islamist, note the choice this traitor was given by his superiors:

"...al-Qaida leaders gave Abu Ali two options: He could either become part of a martyr operation or he could establish a cell in the United States and he would 'marry a Christian woman, assimilate into the community and he would be provided operatives.'"

It is worth repeating: an American citizen (and high school valedictorian) whose goal it was to marry a Christian woman and assimilate into the community so that he could kill Americans.

I hope President Bush realizes this threat against his life is coming at the command of a god he wants to equate with the God of the Bible.

The implications for whom we can trust is quite troubling.

"Democracy and Islam are contradictory terms."

As noted here, the commands of the Qur'an make it impossible for anyone but Muslims to enjoy the full rights of citizenship under Islam.

Jihad Watch has a link to an article that makes several of the most important points regarding the (largely unrecognized) threat of Qur'anic Islam: Five Misconceptions about Islam that could kill Democracy.

Here's number five:

"5. Islam and Democracy are compatible.
Democracy and Islam are contradictory terms. The goal of Islam is Sharia law, the implementation of the Quran as the law of the land. What you see in Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Afghanistan is the Moslem global vision. The idea we express in a democracy, 'I may not agree with what you say but I will fight to the death for your right to say it' is not understood in Islam. There is no right to dissent. There are 16 Moslem nations in the Middle East; not one of them is Democracy."

Apology of Islam and its Theology of Power

"Apology" as in defense, not contrition.

Some excerpts from an article by a UCLA professor at Austin Bay Blog caught my attention. Here is my response:

Can one have Islam without the Qur'an? No. Can one have Islam without Mohammed? Of course, not.

As long as one person believes the Qur'an is the word of Allah (and therefore must be obeyed), there will be someone who believes it is his duty to "...kill the unbelievers wherever you find them" (Qur'an 9:5).

Regardless of the various tangents taken by Muslim schools of thought throughout its history, Qur'anic Islam requires war against unbelievers, "until all religion is for Allah."

Obedience to the Qur'an will eventually result in its adherents doing that which its god commands: converting, subjugating, or killing non-Muslims. (Indeed, it is a blessing that more Muslims don't actually do what its scriptures teach and what its founder practiced.)

That Khaled Abou el Fadl has to argue that various movements have rejected, strayed from, or re-interpreted "extremist" Islam is quite revealing in itself.

His comments never repudiate the fact that according to the Qur'an, violence for Allah against unbelievers who reject his message is the duty of every able-bodied Muslim.

In stating, "Muslim jurists reacted sharply to these [terrorist] groups, considering them enemies of humankind....Regardless of the desired goals or ideological justifications, the terrorizing of the defenseless was recognized as a moral wrong and an offense against society and God...," el Fadl appears to be implying that what we see from modern Islamists is against traditional, Qur'anic Islam.

While it may be true that some jurists reject terrorism as a tactic, it does not deny that Allah commands his people to subdue or kill the unbeliever who will not convert.

el Fadl appears to try to discredit militant Islam by using such loaded language (no pun intended) as: "...puritanical zeal...Wahhabism resisted the indeterminacy of the modern age by escaping...to a strict literalism...Wahhabism exhibited extreme hostility to intellectualism, mysticism and any sectarian divisions...any form of moral thought...as a form of self-idolatry, and treated humanistic fields of knowledge, especially philosophy, as 'the sciences of the devil.'"

Whether Wahhabism does any of these things is irrelevant; what matters is whether or not the violence done in the name of Allah is justified by the Qur'an or is in violation of it. If it is against the Qur'an, then there is hope that Islam can be reformed.

The disturbing fact is that such murderous behavior is not only justified, it is commanded.

el Fadl continues: "According to the Wahhabi creed, it was imperative to return to a presumed pristine, simple and straightforward Islam, which could be entirely reclaimed by literal implementation of the commands of the Prophet....Wahhabism rejected any attempt to interpret the divine law from a historical, contextual perspective...."

If any of the multitude of Qur'anic verses commanding violence against non-Muslims is not enough evidence that those verses should be taken literally, look at the "prophet" himself. Did his life give the impression that he was predisposed to hyperbole, or did he mean what he said? Obviously, Mohammed obeyed Allah's revelations.

In writing of the rise of Saudi Arabia, el Fadl writes, "The Wahhabi rebellions of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries were very bloody because the Wahhabis indiscriminately slaughtered and terrorized Muslims and non-Muslims alike." This is the manner in which Mohammed unified Arabia under Islam 1300 years ago.

Finally, we read, "In this sense, it is accurate to describe this widespread modern trend as supremacist, for it sees the world from the perspective of stations of merit and extreme polarization."

It is not a modern trend. This is how the Qur'an has taught its readers to see the world for the last thirteen centuries.

The problem with Islam is not defeatism, anti-intellectualism, or a misapplied literalism. The problem with Islam, if you are an unbeliever, is the Qur'an.

Defining terms

I have taken to using a term I've not seen anywhere else, and that is Qur'anic Islam.

By this I am referring to the practice of Islam as commanded in the Qur'an and expressed throughout Islam's history, beginning with its founder.

This is the Islam that commands non-Muslims be converted, subjugated, or killed.

This is the Islam that justifies the slaughtering of innocents.

Incompatible with Democracy? Yes, and there's a reason for it

Consistently brilliant, Victor Davis Hanson writes about why Democracy could work in the Middle East, and why we should support it.

There are two points at which Mr. Hanson seems to be missing the mark. The first is here:

"In the case of the Muslim world, there is nothing inherently incompatible between Islam and democracy. Witness millions in India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Turkey who vote. Such liberal venting may well explain why those who blow up Americans are rarely Indian or Turkish Muslims, but more likely Saudis or Egyptians. The trick is now to show that Arab Muslims can establish democracy, and thus the Palestine and Iraq experiments are critical to the entire region."

It seems to me in those societies named there is insufficient public support for the implementation of Qur'anic Islam (though I do not doubt there are those working within them to move those societies into the "freedom" of Shariah).

The second point is here:

The Arab world so far has missed the bus of history. The success of democratic reform in parts of Africa, Latin America, and Asia is a daily reminder of the decades lost in the Middle East, and how endemic Arab envy, jealousy, and excuses — which so repel or bore the world — can be ameliorated only by a new maturity and responsibility that are the wages of democratic government.

The reason the Arab world has "missed the bus of history" is because of Islam. It commands that non-Muslims be converted, subjugated, or killed.

Qur'anic Islam is inherently incompatible with Liberty.

Moral equivalence can kill you

This lack of judgment reminds me of a scene from the movie Independence Day:

"'With all the news from Iraq and Afghanistan and the 'war on terror,' a lot of people are really tuned into the news, and the major news sources have a Western bias,' Brandchannel Editor Robin Rusch said. 'I think people are tuning in to Al-Jazeera and looking at its Web site because it does offer another viewpoint,' Rusch said. 'For the global community, it's one of the few points of access we have to news from the region with a different perspective.'"

If you've seen the movie, you may remember when a crowd gathered atop the First Interstate building in downtown Los Angeles to greet a massive alien ship--just before the aliens opened up their big gun on them.

Al-Jazeera's perspective is different. It is different because Al-Jazeera is Al-Qaeda's media arm. If there is a "Western bias", I suppose it is because we believe that it is wrong to slaughter innocent men, women, and children.

Too many in the West are absolutely unaware of the danger already here (as I lamented in this post).

Shouldn't 9/11 have been enough?

Can one have Islam without the Qur'an? No. Can one have Islam without Mohammed? Of course not.

As long as even one person believes their god commands them to "...kill the unbelievers wherever you find them... (Qur'an 9:5)," as long as one person believes the murderous Mohammed was the "perfect man" whose example should be imitated by the faithful, Jihad will not end.

Of course, the reality is much worse. Millions of people actually believe the Qur'an to be the word of their god; Mohammed taught that "war is deceit" and his followers in the West practice this; and many in the West are blinded by this Muslim duplicity and the lie of multiculturalism.

When you have the most powerful man on earth saying that the God of the Bible and the god of Islam are the same, when you have him equating the words of the Qur'an with the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount, when billions of American dollars are going to an enemy that believes those Americans are devils whose blood should be spilled, what hope is there that America will deal with the real cause of Islamic terrorism before it is too late?

How can one defeat an enemy it does not recognize?

People ignorant of the Qur'an, the Hadith, and Islam's history will believe that Islam is another "one of the world's great religions." With jihadists in America using murder (New Jersey), the Intolerance Card, and the courts (thanks, ACLU) to try to intimidate into silence anyone who dares to tell the truth about Islam, it seems doubtful that our nation will wake up to the very real threat posed by Qur'anic Islam any time soon.

Do we need an even more devastating attack on our nation before we start telling the truth? Shouldn't 9/11 have been enough?

One phrase for posterity

In what was in all other respects an outstanding address, President Bush made the grave error of (again) trying to legitimize Islam by equating the Qur'an with the words of God.

In referring to the giving of the Law to Moses at Mount Sinai and the words of Christ in the Sermon on the Mount, the president includes "...the words of the Qur'an."

Of which words was he thinking? "Slay the unbeliever wherever you find him"? Perhaps he had in mind Allah's command to fight the unbelievers until "all religion is for Allah." Was he referring to the command to fight Jews and Christians "until they feel themselves subdued and pay the jizya"?

Obviously not.

But for what reason would someone so knowledgeable and well-versed in history (the president referenced at least Lincoln, Roosevelt, and Jefferson in his address) make such an obviously misleading statement?

Is President Bush trying to give our Muslim "allies" a means to save face? Is he trying to make American Muslims feel accepted? (Indeed, this latter explanation was my rationalization for why after 9/11 the president referred to Islam as a "religion of peace" and to Allah and Christ as the same God).

To equate the words of a murderous pedophile with the words of God is, three years after 9/11 (by which time someone in the Administration should have read at least some of the Qur'an), inexcusable.

What should have been a speech for the ages will be marred forever by one phrase.

Media's coverage has distorted world's view of Iraqi reality

LTC Tim Ryan, Commander, Task Force 2-12 Cavalry, First Cavalry Division in Iraq writes of the media's one-sided coverage of our efforts in Iraq. Notably, he plainly states the effect of such unbalanced "news":

"Through their incomplete, uninformed and unbalanced reporting, many members of the media covering the war in Iraq are aiding and abetting the enemy."

I've made the same argument since the Democratic leadership crawled out from under their rocks and thought it finally safe enough to try to hurt the president by attacking our military effort.

From one serving on the ground in Iraq, the assertion cannot be easily dismissed, even by those who claim to "support our troops."

This media bias, whether intended to harm our military effort or not, actually harms our military. It aids the enemy. It is treason.

And as noted in "Postmodern War"" (cited below) by Victor Davis Hanson, the resultant demoralization of our forces and the weakening of our will to win here at home is the only hope the enemy has for victory.

Three years removed from 9/11, it may be tempting to believe that the horrors of that day were an aberration, but jihad is here, it is coming, and it will not relent.

From Islam's beginning until today, because of Allah's commands and its founder's example, Non-muslims have only three choices under Qur'anic Islam: conversion, submission, or death.

Because Americans are too self-centered to have noticed?

I just heard a teaser for an NBC special to benefit victims of the south Asian tsunami featuring "some of the biggest stars in the world" (or some similar silliness).

While I respect every attempt to help those in need, it is now three weeks after the initial disaster. Millions have been given and pledged by private citizens all across the United States, and our government has generously offered our tax dollars in the form of financial aid, food, supplies, materials, and military support.

With this in mind, what do the celebrities performing (I think I heard the ubiquitous Bono in the ad) think they are doing? Motivating the unwashed masses who, apart from a celebrity on whose every word they hang, would be completely unaware of (and indifferent to) human suffering?

I can't help but wonder about the rationale behind something like this.

A response to the Chairman of the RNC

After receiving an e-mail regarding renewing my support for President Bush, I sent this reply:

Dear Mr. Gillespie,

I have been an ardent supporter of President Bush and his waging of the War Against Islamic Terror. I believe the president is a good man. Even if I wasn't convinced that his opponent in the last election was a liar, a traitor, an appeaser, and a socialist, I still would have supported him.

Now that President Bush has won re-election, there are two major areas where I believe the president's policies are headed in the wrong direction: Illegal Immigration and Domestic Spending.

First, the president must lead the effort to really secure our borders. He must not allow those who (for whatever reason) would violate American law and sovereignty.

Two of America's enemies join forces

In what is a revealing and troubling (but not surprising) development, CAIR, a group with well-documented ties to individuals and groups practicing Qu'ranic Islam, has enlisted the help of the ACLU in attacking and undermining Christian freedom in the United States.

The ACLU has a long history of attacking the religious freedom of the American people and of usurping the will of the people through the use of judicial activism. It has long sought (with a great deal of success) to undermine American Liberty.

CAIR, recognizing the effectiveness of the ACLU, has also chosen to use gross distortions of language and law to intimidate Americans.

Rather than succumb to politically-correct misspeak and be bullied into silence, Americans must continue the persistent and courageous declaration of Truth, for "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

Why are Christians losing America?

It is not enough to "believe" in Jesus.

The Apostle James warns Christians against the false security of thinking that faith apart from works is worth anything at all--"even the demons believe, and shudder."

In other words, faith without works is dead.

Some familiar with Christianity will no doubt object, saying, "We are saved by faith, not by works!" Yes, this is true. But the faith of which James speaks is real faith, the kind of faith that results in obedience to Christ, the kind of faith that results in action.

Jesus said, "If you love Me, obey My commands." He spoke often of the fact that His children will produce the works He intends.

Because it reflects the traditional Apostlic faith, Lutheran theology states it this way: "We are saved by faith alone, but not by faith that is alone."

Allah and his false prophet command the faithful to convert, subdue and humiliate, or kill non-Muslims to make the world Islam

Muslims wishing to deceive uninformed non-Muslims -- and those non-Muslims who wish to be deceived -- often try to discredit critics of Muhammad and Islam by accusing them of "Islamophobia," "racism," "extremism," and taking Islamic authoritative sources out-of-context.

When allowed to speak for themselves, Allah and its apostle prove those accusations false. According to Muslims themselves, Muhammad's words and deeds are recorded in Qur'an, hadith, and sira. In these texts, the prophet of Islam and his deity demand the conversion, subjugation and humiliation, and slaughter of non-Muslims to make the world Islam.

I. MUHAMMAD THE GENOCIDAL MONSTER

These open-ended, universal commands for offensive warfare against those who refuse to convert to Islam or to submit to its tyranny sum up nicely the predicament that has faced non-Muslims around the world for nearly one and one-half millennia:

"the Messenger of Allah [...] would say: 'Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war. [...] When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. [...] Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them. [...] If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them [...]'" (Muslim Book 19, Number 4294).

"fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war) [...]" (Qur’an 9:5, the "Verse of the Sword").

"Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued" ( Qur'an 9:29).

Islam's great exegete Ibn Kathir says of the following verse: "'Wage war' mentioned here means, oppose and contradict, and it includes disbelief, blocking roads and spreading fear in the fairways. Mischief in the land refers to various types of evil." So, Muhammad requires the execution, crucifixion, or cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides for disbelief.

"The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter [...]" (Qur'an 5:33).

"Allah's Apostle said: 'I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Apostle [...] if they perform that, then they save their lives and property from me [...]'" (Bukhari Volume 1, Book 2, Number 24).

The following verse commands slaughter in response to "persecution"; self-defense is moral and retaliation understandable, but when you understand that even disbelief is considered "waging war" against Allah, then this passage can be used reasonably by Muslims to justify butchering innocents.

"slay them wherever you come upon them, and expel them from where they expelled you; persecution is more grievous than slaying. But fight them not by the Holy Mosque until they should fight you there; then, if they fight you, slay them — such is the recompense of unbelievers, but if they give over, surely Allah is All-forgiving, All-compassionate. Fight them, till there is no persecution and the religion is Allah’s; then if they give over, there shall be no enmity save for evildoers" (Quran 2:191-19).

"It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land. Ye desire the lure of this world and Allah desireth (for you) the Hereafter, and Allah is Mighty, Wise" (Qur'an 8:67).

"Allah’s Apostle said, '[...] I have been made victorious with terror [...]'" (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 220).

"Allah's Apostle was asked, 'What is the best deed?' He replied, 'To believe in Allah and His Apostle (Muhammad).' The questioner then asked, 'What is the next (in goodness)?' He replied, 'To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah's Cause.' The questioner again asked, 'What is the next (in goodness)?' He replied, 'To perform Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca) [...]'" (Bukhari Volume 1, Book 2, Number 25).

"Say to the Unbelievers, if (now) they desist (from Unbelief), their past would be forgiven them; but if they persist, the punishment of those before them is already (a matter of warning for them). And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone (in the whole of the world) [...]" (Qur'an 8:38-39).

"O ye who believe! fight the unbelievers who gird you about, and let them find firmness in you: and know that Allah is with those who fear Him" (Qur'an 9:123).

"Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not" (Qur'an 2:216).

"Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly" (Qur'an 8:60).

“Muhammad said, ‘A single endeavor of fighting in Allah’s Cause is better than the world and whatever is in it’” (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 50).

"Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home) [...] But those who strive and fight hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward [...]" (Qur'an 4:95).

“A man came to Allah’s Apostle and said, ‘Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad in reward.’ He replied, ‘I do not find such a deed’” (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 44).

"Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah" (Qur'an 9:111)?

"Think not of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance from their Lord. They rejoice in the Bounty provided by Allah...the (Martyrs) glory in the fact that on them is no fear, nor have they (cause to) grieve. They rejoice in the Grace and the Bounty from Allah, and in the fact that Allah suffereth not the reward of the Faithful to be lost (in the least)" (Qur'an 3:169-71).

"And there were, among the desert Arabs (also), men who made excuses and came to claim exemption [from waging war against non-Muslims]; and those who were false to Allah and His Messenger (merely) sat inactive. Soon will a grievous penalty seize the Unbelievers among them. There is no blame on those who are infirm, or ill, or who find no resources to spend (on the cause), if they are sincere (in duty) to Allah and His Messenger: no ground (of complaint) can there be against such as do right: and Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful" (Qur'an 9:90-91).

"O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place [...]" (Qur'an 9:38-39).

II. MUHAMMAD THE TERRORIST

"Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): 'I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them'" (Qur'an 8:12).

"Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly" (Qur'an 8:60).

"Allah’s Apostle said, '[...] I have been made victorious with terror. The treasures of the world were brought to me and put in my hand'" (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 220).

III. MUHAMMAD THE WARLORD AND HIS INTENTION TO CONQUER THE NON-MUSLIM WORLD

"Say to the Unbelievers, if (now) they desist (from Unbelief), their past would be forgiven them; but if they persist, the punishment of those before them is already (a matter of warning for them). And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone (in the whole of the world) [...]" (Qur'an 8:38-39). 

"Narrated Jubair bin Haiya: ''Umar sent the Muslims to the great countries to fight the pagans [...] 'Umar said to him [Al-Hurmuzan] "I would like to consult you regarding these countries which I intend to invade."

'Al-Hurmuzan said, "Yes, the example of these countries and their inhabitants who are the enemies of the Muslims, is like a bird with a head, two wings and two legs [...] if its head got destroyed, then the two legs, two wings and the head would become useless.

'The head stands for Khosrau [Persia], and one wing stands for Caesar [Byzantium] and the other wing stands for Faris. So, order the Muslims to go towards Khosrau."

'So, 'Umar sent us (to Khosrau) [...] When we reached the land of the enemy, the representative of Khosrau came out with forty-thousand warriors, and an interpreter got up saying, "Let one of you talk to me!" Al-Mughira replied, "Ask whatever you wish." The other asked, "Who are you?" Al-Mughira replied, "We are some people from the Arabs; we led a hard, miserable, disastrous life: we used to suck the hides and the date stones from hunger; we used to wear clothes made up of fur of camels and hair of goats, and to worship trees and stones. While we were in this state, the Lord of the Heavens and the Earths, Elevated is His Remembrance and Majestic is His Highness, sent to us from among ourselves a Prophet whose father and mother are known to us.

'Our Prophet, the Messenger of our Lord, has ordered us to fight you till you worship Allah Alone or give Jizya (i.e. tribute); and our Prophet has informed us that our Lord says: "Whoever amongst us is killed (i.e. martyred), shall go to Paradise to lead such a luxurious life as he has never seen, and whoever amongst us remain alive, shall become your master."

'(Al-Mughira, then blamed An-Numan for delaying the attack and) An-Numan said to Al-Mughira, "If you had participated in a similar battle, in the company of Allah's Apostle he would not have blamed you for waiting, nor would he have disgraced you. But I accompanied Allah's Apostle in many battles and it was his custom that if he did not fight early by daytime, he would wait till the wind had started blowing and the time for the prayer was due (i.e. after midday)" (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 53, Number 386).

IV. MUHAMMAD THE SLAUGHTERER OF THE INNOCENT

So much for the allegedly inviolable prohibition against killing innocent women, children, and the elderly and burning down trees:

"The Prophet passed by me at a place called Al-Abwa or Waddan, and was asked whether it was permissible to attack the pagan warriors at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. The Prophet replied, "They (i.e. women and children) are from them (i.e. pagans)" (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 256).

"The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree) [justifying the murder of innocents]: but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loveth not those who do wrong" (Qur'an 42:40).

Muslims are allowed to kill non-Muslims who are otherwise off-limits if they aid resistance against Islam: "It is permissible for Muslims to kill inviolable infidels if they are aiding the fighting in deed, word, opinion, or any other way. This is because of the Prophet's order to kill Duraid ibn Al-Simma, who was 120 years old and went with the Hawazin tribe [to fight against the Muslims] to give them counsel" (Contemporary Islamist Ideology Authorizing Genocidal Murder).

And mocking Muhammad is also a capital offense. Ask Abu Afak or Asma bint Marwan.

"And they agreed concerning the Messenger of Allah's killing of Durayd Ibn As-Summa on the day of Hunayn because he was a person of opinion and strategem of war. So whoever is like this from the elderly, then they are killed according to all." (At-Tamhid Volume 16, Number 142).

"Then occurred the "sariyyah" [raid] of Salim Ibn Umayr al-Amri against Abu Afak, the Jew, in [the month of] Shawwal in the beginning of the twentieth month from the hijrah [immigration from Mecca to Medina in AD 622], of the Apostle of Allah.

"Abu Afak, was from Banu Amr Ibn Awf, and was an old man who had attained the age of one hundred and twenty years. He was a Jew, and used to instigate the people against the Apostle of Allah, and composed (satirical) verses [about Muhammad].

"Salim Ibn Umayr who was one of the great weepers and who had participated in Badr, said, 'I take a vow that I shall either kill Abu Afak or die before him.' He waited for an opportunity until a hot night came, and Abu Afak slept in an open place. Salim Ibn Umayr knew it, so he placed the sword on his liver and pressed it till it reached his bed. The enemy of Allah screamed and the people who were his followers, rushed to him, took him to his house and interred him" (Ibn Sa'd, Kitab al Tabaqat al Kabir, Volume 2, (2), p.32).

"When the apostle heard what she had said he said, 'Who will rid me of Marwan's daughter?' Umayr bin Adiy al-Khatmi who was with him heard him, and that very night he went to her house and killed her. In the morning he came to the apostle and told him what he had done and he [Muhammad] said, 'You have helped Allah and His apostle, O Umayr!' When he asked if he would have to bear any evil consequences the apostle said, 'Two goats won't butt their heads about her,' so Umayr went back to his people.

"Now there was a great commotion among Banu Khatma that day about the affair of bint [daughter of] Marwan. She had five sons, and when Umayr went to them from the apostle he said, 'I have killed bint Marwan, o sons of Khatma. Withstand me if you can; don't keep me waiting.' That was the first day Islam became powerful among Banu Khatma; before that those who were Muslims concealed the fact [...] The day after Bint Marwan was killed the men of Banu Khatma became Muslims because they feared for their lives" (Ibn Ishaq, Sirat Rasul Allah, pp. 675-676 of Guillaume's translation).

"Then (occurred) the sariyyah of Umayr ibn adi Ibn Kharashah al-Khatmi against Asma Bint Marwan [...] She used to revile Islam, offend the prophet and instigate the (people) against him. She composed verses. Umayr Ibn Adi came to her in the night and entered her house. Her children were sleeping around her. There was one whom she was suckling. He searched her with his hand because he was blind, and separated the child from her. He thrust his sword in her chest till it pierced up to her back. Then he offered the morning prayers with the prophet at al-Medina. The apostle of Allah said to him: "Have you slain the daughter of Marwan?" He said: "Yes. Is there something more for me to do?" He [Muhammad] said: "No [...]" (Ibn Sa'd's Kitab al-Tabaqat al-Kabir).

"A blind man had a slave-mother who used to abuse the Prophet [...] and disparage him. He forbade her but she did not stop. He rebuked her but she did not give up her habit. One night she began to slander the Prophet [...] and abuse him. So he took a dagger, placed it on her belly, pressed it, and killed her. A child who came between her legs was smeared with the blood that was there. When the morning came, the Prophet [...] was informed about it.

"He assembled the people and said: 'I adjure by Allah the man who has done this action and I adjure him by my right to him that he should stand up.' Jumping over the necks of the people and trembling the man stood up.

"He sat before the Prophet [...] and said: 'Apostle of Allah! I am her master; she used to abuse you and disparage you. I forbade her, but she did not stop, and I rebuked her, but she did not abandon her habit. I have two sons like pearls from her, and she was my companion. Last night she began to abuse and disparage you. So I took a dagger, put it on her belly and pressed it till I killed her.'

"Thereupon the Prophet [...] said: 'Oh be witness, no retaliation is payable for her blood'" (Abu-Dawud Book 38, Number 4348).

"It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah [...] ordered the date-palms of Banu Nadir to be burnt and cut. These palms were at Buwaira. Qutaibah and Ibn Rumh in their versions of the tradition have added: 'So Allah, the Glorious and Exalted, revealed the verse: "Whatever trees you have cut down or left standing on their trunks, it was with the permission of Allah so that He may disgrace the evil-doers"'" (Muslim Book 19, Number 4324).

V. MUHAMMAD THE DECAPITATOR AND MUTILATOR OF "UNBELIEVERS"

The "divine" command for beheading:

"Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): 'I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them'" (Qur'an 8:12).

"Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them) [...] Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah, - He will never let their deeds be lost" (Qur'an 47:4).

"...he [Muhammad] said [to Abu Sufyan], ‘Isn’t it time that you should recognize that there is no God but Allah?’

"He answered, ‘You are dearer to me than father or mother. How great is your clemency, honour, and kindness! By God, I thought that had there been another God with God he would have continued to help me.’

"He said, ‘Woe to you, Abu Sufyan, isn’t it time that you should recognize that I am God’s apostle?’

"He answered, ‘As to that I still have some doubt.’

"'I said to him, "Submit and testify that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is the apostle of God before you lose your head," so he did so'" (Ishaq, 547).

VI. MUHAMMAD THE BUTCHER OF PRISONERS OF WAR

Here's how Allah deals with prisoners of war. Apparently, he hasn't heard of the Geneva Conventions:

"The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter [...]" (Qur'an 5:33).

VII. MUHAMMAD THE SERIAL, BISEXUAL RAPIST IN PARADISE

It's not just women you get when you kill for Allah. You also get boys in Paradise:

"As to the Righteous (they will be) in a position of Security, Among Gardens and Springs; Dressed in fine silk and in rich brocade, they will face each other; So; and We shall join them to fair women with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes" (Qur'an 44:51-54).

"those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith, - to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill. Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded" (Qur'an 52:21-24).

"round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls" (Qur'an 76:19).

VIII. MUHAMMAD THE PEDOPHILE

Pedophilia as Muslim orthodoxy? In speaking of divorce:

"And for such of your women as despair of menstruation, if ye doubt, their period (of waiting) shall be three months along with those who have it not. And for those with child, their period shall be till they bring forth their burden. And whosoever keepeth his duty to Allah, He maketh his course easy for him" (Qur'an 65:4).

Why? Because Allah ordained it, and his apostle practiced it. On Muhammad's raping of his nine-year-old "wife":

"My mother came to me while I was being swung on a swing between two branches and got me down. My nurse took over and wiped my face with some water and started leading me. When I was at the door she stopped so I could catch my breath. I was brought in while Muhammad was sitting on a bed in our house. My mother made me sit on his lap. The other men and women got up and left. The Prophet consummated his marriage with me in my house when I was nine years old” (Tabari 9:131).

"Narrated 'Aisha [Muhammad's six-year-old "bride" and nine-year-old sexual "partner"]: 'Allah's Apostle said (to me), "You were shown to me twice in (my) dream [before I married you]. Behold, a man was carrying you in a silken piece of cloth and said to me, 'She is your wife, so uncover her,' and behold, it was you. I would then say (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen'"'" (Bukhari Volume 9, Book 87, Number 139 and 140).

"Narrated Aisha: The Prophet engaged me when I was a girl of six (years). We went to Medina and stayed at the home of Bani-al-Harith bin Khazraj. Then I got ill and my hair fell down. Later on my hair grew (again) and my mother, Um Ruman, came to me while I was playing in a swing with some of my girl friends. She called me, and I went to her, not knowing what she wanted to do to me. She caught me by the hand and made me stand at the door of the house. I was breathless then, and when my breathing became alright, she took some water and rubbed my face and head with it. Then she took me into the house. There in the house I saw some Ansari women who said, "Best wishes and Allah's Blessing and a good luck." Then she entrusted me to them and they prepared me (for the marriage). Unexpectedly Allah's Apostle came to me in the forenoon and my mother handed me over to him, and at that time I was a girl of nine years of age" (Bukhari Volume 5, Book 58, Number 234).

"A'isha [...] reported: Allah's Apostle [...] married me when I was six years old, and I was admitted to his house when I was nine years old" (Muslim Book 8, Number 3310).

"Narrated 'Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death)" (Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64 and 65).

"Narrated 'Ursa: The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with 'Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death)" (Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 88).

"Narrated Hisham's father: Khadija died three years before the Prophet departed to Medina. He stayed there for two years or so and then he married 'Aisha when she was a girl of six years of age, and he consum[mat]ed that marriage when she was nine years old" (Bukhari Volume 5, Book 58, Number 236).

"Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: The Apostle of Allah [...] married me when I was seven or six. When we came to Medina, some women came. According to Bishr's version: Umm Ruman came to me when I was swinging. They took me, made me prepared and decorated me. I was then brought to the Apostle of Allah [...] and he took up cohabitation with me when I was nine. She halted me at the door, and I burst into laughter" (Bukhari Book 41, Number 4915).

"Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: When we came to Medina, the women came to me when I was playing on the swing, and my hair were up to my ears. They brought me, prepared me, and decorated me. Then they brought me to the Apostle of Allah [...] and he took up cohabitation with me, when I was nine" (Bukhari Book 41, Number 4917).

"Narrated 'Aisha: I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah's Apostle used to enter (my dwelling place) they used to hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me. (The playing with the dolls and similar images is forbidden, but it was allowed for 'Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty.) (Fateh-al-Bari page 143, Vol.13)" (Bukhari Volume 8, Book 73, Number 151).

"'A'isha [...] reported that Allah's Apostle [...] married her when she was seven years old, and she was taken to his house as a bride when she was nine, and her dolls were with her; and when he [Muhammad] died she was eighteen years old" (Muslim Book 8, Number 3311).

IX. MUHAMMAD THE MISOGYNIST, POLYGYNIST, AND WIFE-BEATER

'Aisha said that the lady (came), wearing a green veil (and complained to her (Aisha) of her husband and showed her a green spot on her skin caused by beating). It was the habit of ladies to support each other, so when Allah's Apostle came, 'Aisha said, "I have not seen any woman suffering as much as the believing women" (Bukhari Volume 7, Book 72, Number 715).

On beating wives, "plowing the field," the legal value of a woman's testimony, polygamy (and raping your slaves), the penalty for "lewdness," a daughter's inheritance, and what to do with a woman caught in adultery:

“[...] good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them [...]" (Qur'an 4:34).

“Your women are a tilth for you (to cultivate) so go to your tilth as ye will” (Qur'an 2:223).

"Allah's Apostle said, "If a husband calls his wife to his bed (i.e. to have sexual relation) and she refuses and causes him to sleep in anger, the angels will curse her till morning" (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 460).

“Get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her” (Qur'an 2:282).

“If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, marry women of your choice, two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice” (Qur'an 4:3).

"If any of your women are guilty of lewdness, take the evidence of four (Reliable) witnesses from amongst you against them; and if they testify, confine them to houses until death do claim them, or Allah ordain for them some (other) way [...]" (Qur'an 4:15).

“Allah (thus) directs you as regards your children’s (inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females” (Qur'an 4:11).

"There came to him [Muhammad] a woman from Ghamid and said: 'Allah's Messenger, I have committed adultery, so purify me. He [Muhammad] turned her away. On the following day she said: Allah's Messenger, Why do you turn me away? Perhaps, you turn me away as you turned away Ma'iz. By Allah, I have become pregnant. He said: Well, if you insist upon it, then go away until you give birth to (the child).

"'When she was delivered she came with the child (wrapped) in a rag and said: Here is the child whom I have given birth to. He said: Go away and suckle him until you wean him. When she had weaned him, she came to him [Muhammad] with the child who was holding a piece of bread in his hand. She said: Allah's Apostle, here is he as I have weaned him and he eats food. He [Muhammad] entrusted the child to one of the Muslims and then pronounced punishment. And she was put in a ditch up to her chest and he commanded people and they stoned her. Khalid b Walid came forward with a stone which he flung at her head and there spurted blood on the face of Khalid and so he abused her. Allah's Apostle [...] heard his (Khalid's) curse that he had huried upon her. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Khalid, be gentle [...]'" (Muslim Book 17, 4206).

Why women must cover themselves (and why non-Muslim women are increasingly being targeted by Muslims for rape and other atrocities):

"And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex [...]" (Qur'an 24:31).

"Aisha used to say: 'When (the Verse): "They should draw their veils over their necks and bosoms," was revealed, (the ladies) cut their waist sheets at the edges and covered their faces with the cut pieces'" (Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Number 282).

"Narrated 'Aisha: 'Allah's Apostle used to offer the Fajr prayer and some believing women covered with their veiling sheets used to attend the Fajr prayer with him and then they would return to their homes unrecognized'" (Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Number 368).

[Explanatory note: Shaikh Ibn Uthaimin in tafseer of this hadith explains: "This hadith makes it clear that the Islamic dress is concealing of the entire body as explained in this hadith. Only with the complete cover including the face and hands can a woman not be recognized. This was the understanding and practice of the Sahaba and they were the best of group, the noblest in the sight of Allah [...] with the most complete Imaan and noblest of characters. so if the practice of the women of the sahaba was to wear the complete veil then how can we deviate from their path?"]

"Narrated 'Aisha: 'The wives of the Prophet used to go to Al-Manasi, a vast open place (near Baqia at Medina) to answer the call of nature at night. 'Umar used to say to the Prophet "Let your wives be veiled," but Allah's Apostle did not do so. One night Sauda bint Zam'a the wife of the Prophet went out at 'Isha' time and she was a tall lady. 'Umar addressed her and said, "I have recognized you, O Sauda." He said so, as he desired eagerly that the verses of Al-Hijab (the observing of veils by the Muslim women) may be revealed. So Allah revealed the verses of "Al-Hijab" (A complete body cover excluding the eyes)'" (Bukhari Volume 1, Book 4, Number 148).

Muhammad on female leaders of state:

"Narrated Abu Bakra: 'During the battle of Al-Jamal, Allah benefited me with a Word (I heard from the Prophet). When the Prophet heard the news that the people of the Persia had made the daughter of Khosrau their Queen (ruler), he said, "Never will succeed such a nation as makes a woman their ruler"'" (Bukhari Volume 9, Book 88, Number 219).

X. MUHAMMAD THE RAPIST

On raping one's slaves, including those whose husbands, fathers, and brothers you've just slaughtered:

"Also (prohibited are) women already married, except those whom your right hands possess [...]" (Qur'an 4:24).

"...we reached Khaibar; and when Allah enabled him to conquer the Fort (of Khaibar), the beauty of Safiya bint Huyai bin Akhtab was described to him. Her husband had been killed while she was a bride. So Allah's Apostle selected her for himself and took her along with him till we reached a place called Sad-AsSahba,' where her menses were over and he took her for his wife [...]" (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 143).

The Prophet stayed for three rights between Khaibar and Medina and was married to Safiya. I invited the Muslim to his marriage banquet and there was neither meat nor bread in that banquet but the Prophet ordered Bilal to spread the leather mats on which dates, dried yogurt and butter were put. The Muslims said amongst themselves, "Will she (i.e. Safiya) be one of the mothers of the believers, (i.e. one of the wives of the Prophet ) or just (a lady captive) of what his right-hand possesses" Some of them said, "If the Prophet makes her observe the veil, then she will be one of the mothers of the believers (i.e. one of the Prophet's wives), and if he does not make her observe the veil, then she will be his lady slave." So when he departed, he made a place for her behind him [...] and made her observe the veil" (Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59, Number 524).

XI. MUHAMMAD THE SOURCE OF ISLAMIC REVELATION

Muhammad on the immutability of Islam (apart from what he himself decides to change) and the abrogation of earlier, more peaceful verses in favor of the numerous verses of blood:

"I heard the Prophet saying [...] 'Far removed (from mercy), far removed (from mercy), those who changed (the religion) after me'" (Bukhari Volume 9, Book 88, Number 174)!

“The Prophet said, ‘If I take an oath and later find something else better than that, then I do what is better and expiate my oath'" (Bukhari Volume 7, Book 67, Number 427).

“Whatever communications We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring one better than it or like it. Do you not know that Allah has power over all things” (Qur'an 2:106)?

XII. MUHAMMAD THE "BEAUTIFUL PATTERN OF CONDUCT"

Why what the false prophet says matters so much to Muslims:

"Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the Praise of Allah" (Qur'an 33:21).

"the Messenger of Allah [...] said: 'No bondsman believes,' and, in the hadith narrated by Abdul Warith, 'no person believes, till I am dearer to him than the members of his household, his wealth and the whole of mankind'" (Muslim Book 1, Number 70).

"It is reported on the authority of Anas b. Malik that the Messenger of Allah said: 'None of you is a believer till I am dearer to him than his child, his father and the whole of mankind'" (Muslim Book 1, Number 71).

XIII. MUHAMMAD THE RELIGIOUS TYRANT

Muhammad on freedom of religion:

"Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him" (Bukhari Volume 9, Book 84, Number 57).

"They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them" (Qur'an 4:89).

XIV. MUHAMMAD THE EMOTIONALLY-STUNTED MURDERER AND ASSASSIN OF OLD MEN AND FEMALE POETS AND SADISTIC, TORTURING FIEND

On what to do with those who insult Muhammad. In response to Muhammad's having 120 year-old Abu Afak killed, Asma bint Marwan, a poetess, mocked him. Muhammad was not amused:

"When the apostle heard what she had said he said, 'Who will rid me of Marwan's daughter?' Umayr bin Adiy al-Khatmi who was with him heard him, and that very night he went to her house and killed her. In the morning he came to the apostle and told him what he had done and he [Muhammad] said, "You have helped Allah and His apostle, O Umayr!" When he asked if he would have to bear any evil consequences the apostle said, 'Two goats won't butt their heads about her,' so Umayr went back to his people.

Now there was a great commotion among Banu Khatma that day about the affair of bint [daughter of] Marwan. She had five sons, and when Umayr went to them from the apostle he said, 'I have killed bint Marwan, o sons of Khatma. Withstand me if you can; don't keep me waiting.' That was the first day Islam became powerful among Banu Khatma; before that those who were Muslims concealed the fact [...] The day after Bint Marwan was killed the men of Banu Khatma became Muslims because they feared for their lives" (Ibn Ishaq, Sirat Rasul Allah).

A little more detail on the foul deed:

"Then (occurred) the sariyyah of Umayr ibn adi Ibn Kharashah al-Khatmi against Asma Bint Marwan, of Banu Umayyah Ibn Zayd, when five nights had remained from the month of Ramadan, in the beginning of the nineteenth month from the hijrah of the apostle of Allah. Asma was the wife of Yazid Ibn Zayd Ibn Hisn al-Khatmi. She used to revile Islam, offend the prophet and instigate the (people) against him. She composed verses. Umayr Ibn Adi came to her in the night and entered her house. Her children were sleeping around her. There was one whom she was suckling. He searched her with his hand because he was blind, and separated the child from her. He thrust his sword in her chest till it pierced up to her back. Then he offered the morning prayers with the prophet at al-Medina. The apostle of Allah said to him: "Have you slain the daughter of Marwan?" He said: "Yes. Is there something more for me to do?" He [Muhammad] said: "No [...]" (Ibn Sa'd's Kitab al-Tabaqat al-Kabir).

Here's another woman foolish enough to mock the seal of the prophets:

"Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas:

"A blind man had a slave-mother who used to abuse the Prophet [...] and disparage him. He forbade her but she did not stop. He rebuked her but she did not give up her habit. One night she began to slander the Prophet [...] and abuse him. So he took a dagger, placed it on her belly, pressed it, and killed her. A child who came between her legs was smeared with the blood that was there. When the morning came, the Prophet [...] was informed about it.

"He assembled the people and said: 'I adjure by Allah the man who has done this action and I adjure him by my right to him that he should stand up.' Jumping over the necks of the people and trembling the man stood up.

"He sat before the Prophet [...] and said: 'Apostle of Allah! I am her master; she used to abuse you and disparage you. I forbade her, but she did not stop, and I rebuked her, but she did not abandon her habit. I have two sons like pearls from her, and she was my companion. Last night she began to abuse and disparage you. So I took a dagger, put it on her belly and pressed it till I killed her.'

"Thereupon the Prophet [...] said: 'Oh be witness, no retaliation is payable for her blood'" Abu-Dawud Book 38, Number 4348).

And here Muhammad tortures a captured Jew for his treasure:

"Kinana al-Rabi, who had the custody of the treasure of Banu Nadir, was brought to the apostle who asked him about it. He denied that he knew where it was. A Jew came to the apostle and said that he had seen Kinana going round a certain ruin every morning early. When the apostle said to Kinana, "Do you know that if we find you have it I shall kill you?" He said "Yes". The apostle gave orders that the ruin was to be excavated and some of the treasure was found. When he asked him about the rest he refused to produce it, so the apostle gave orders to al-Zubayr Al-Awwam, "Torture him until you extract what he has." So he kindled a fire with flint and steel on his chest until he was nearly dead. Then the apostle delivered him to Muhammad b. Maslama and he struck off his head, in revenge for his brother Mahmud" (Ibn Ishaq, 515).

XV. MUHAMMAD THE ART CRITIC AND PHYSICIAN

On Allah's hatred of painting, and a cure worse than the disease it's purported to solve:

"Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) had said: The most grievously tormented people on the Day of Resurrection would be the painters of pictures [...] All the painters who make pictures would be in the fire of Hell. The soul will be breathed in every picture prepared by him and it shall punish him in the Hell [...]" (Muslim, Book 024, Number 5272).

"Some people from the tribe of 'Ukl came to the Prophet and embraced Islam. The climate of Medina did not suit them, so the Prophet ordered them to go to the [...] camels of charity and to drink, their milk and urine (as a medicine). They did so, and after they had recovered from their ailment (became healthy) they turned renegades (reverted from Islam) and killed the shepherd of the camels and took the camels away. The Prophet sent (some people) in their pursuit and so they were (caught and) brought, and the Prophets ordered that their hands and legs should be cut off and that their eyes should be branded with heated pieces of iron, and that their cut hands and legs should not be cauterized, till they die" (Bukhari Volume 8, Book 82, Number 794).

XVI. MUHAMMAD THE DECEIVER

On truthfulness, or rather, the lack of it, as long as it aids Allah's cause:

"War is deceit" (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 268).

"Allah's Apostle said, 'Who is willing to kill Ka'b bin Al-Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His Apostle?' Thereupon Muhammad bin Maslama got up saying, 'O Allah's Apostle! Would you like that I kill him?' The Prophet said, 'Yes,' Muhammad bin Maslama said, 'Then allow me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Kab).' The Prophet said, 'You may say it'" (Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 369).

"Let not the believers take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah: except by way of precaution, that ye may Guard yourselves from them. But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself; for the final goal is to Allah" (Qur'an 3:28).

XVII. MUHAMMAD THE ANTI-SEMITE AND CHRIST-HATER

On Muhammad's special love for Jews:

"Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews" (Muslim Book 41, Number 6985).

Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant" (Qur'an 5:82).

"And well ye knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath: We said to them: "Be ye apes, despised and rejected" (Qur'an 2:65).

"Shall I point out to you something much worse than this, (as judged) by the treatment it received from Allah? Those who incurred the curse of Allah and His wrath, those of whom some He transformed into apes and swine, those who worshipped evil; these are (many times) worse in rank, and far more astray from the even path" (Qur'an 5:60)!

"Allah's Apostle said, 'The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say, "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him"'" (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 177).

"We were (sitting) in the mosque when the Messenger of Allah [...] came to us and said: (Let us) go to the Jews. We went out with him until we came to them. The Messenger of Allah [...] stood up and called out to them (saying): O ye assembly of Jews, accept Islam (and) you will be safe.

[...]

"he killed their men, and distributed their women, children and properties among the Muslims, except that some of them had joined the Messenger of Allah [...] who granted them security. They embraced Islam. The Messenger of Allah [...] turned out all the Jews of Medlina. Banu Qainuqa' (the tribe of 'Abdullah b. Salim) and the Jews of Banu Haritha and every other Jew who was in Medina.

[...]

"It has been narrated by 'Umar b. al-Khattib that he heard the Messenger of Allah [...] say: I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim" (Muslim Book 19, Number 4363-4366).

On Muhammad's love for Jews and Christians, deceptively referred to by Muslims as the "People of the Book":

"It has been narrated by 'Umar b. al-Khattib that he heard the Messenger of Allah [...] say: I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim" (Muslim Book 19, Number 4363-4366)."

"Abu Burda reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Apostle [...] said: No Muslim would die but Allah would admit in his stead a Jew or a Christian in Hell-Fire. 'Umar b. Abd al-'Aziz took an oath: By One besides Whom there is no god but He, thrice that his father had narrated that to him from Allah's Messenger [...]" (Muslim Book 37, Number 6666).

"Those who disbelieve, neither their possessions nor their (numerous) progeny will avail them aught against Allah: They are themselves but fuel for the Fire" (Qur'an 3:10).

"'There is none born but is created to his true nature (Islam). It is his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian or a Magian quite as beasts produce their young with their limbs perfect. Do you see anything deficient in them?' Then he quoted the Qur'an, 'The nature made by Allah in which He has created men there is no altering of Allah's creation; that is the right religion'" (Muslim Book 33, Number 6423).

"Yahya related to me from Malik that he heard that Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz gave a decision that when a [J]ew or [C]hristian was killed, his blood-money was half the blood-money of a free muslim.

"Malik said, 'What is done in our community, is that a muslim is not killed for a kafir unless the muslim kills him by deceit. Then he is killed for it.'

[...]

"Malik said, 'The blood-monies of the Jew, Christian, and Magian in their injuries, is according to the injury of the muslims in their blood-moneys. The head wound is a twentieth of his full blood-money. The wound that opens the head is a third of his blood-money. The belly-wound is a third of his blood-money. All their injuries are according to this calculation'" (Muwatta Book 43, Number 43.15.8b).

"O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust" (Qur'an 5:51).

"Those who believe fight in the way of Allah, and those who disbelieve fight in the way of the Shaitan. Fight therefore against the friends of the Shaitan; surely the strategy of the Shaitan is weak" (Qur'an 4:76).

XVIII. MUHAMMAD THE HERETIC AND BLASPHEMER OF THE LIVING GOD

For those who claim the god of Islam is the God of the Bible, Muhammad doesn't think so. He calls Christ a blasphemer:

"In blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ the son of Mary. Say: "Who then hath the least power against Allah, if His will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all every - one that is on the earth? For to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between. He createth what He pleaseth. For Allah hath power over all things" (Qur'an 5:17).

"They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them" (Qur'an 5:73).

"The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth" (Qur'an 9:30)!

"It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son" (Qur'an 19:35).

Democratic National Convention, Day 1

After the first night of the convention, several things are clear:

1) Al Gore is bitter.

I gave up counting (after six) the number of times the former vice-president referred to his electoral loss in Florida (subsequently verified by independent Florida media).

At least he didn't conclude his comments with "YEEEEEEEAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!"

2) When Bill Clinton speaks, he lies.

His remarks just concluded, the only thing more remarkable than the irony of his addressing the topics he did is that he did it with a straight face (and without bursting into flame).

It is ironic (but not funny) that the former Offender-in-Chief would talk about...

...Values.  After promising the most ethical administration in history, Mr. Clinton went on to give us perjury and obstruction of justice (for which his license to practice law was revoked; unlike the gutless Senate, at least someone had the courage to hold him accountable), China-gate, a number of suspicious deaths, and (apparently) something so horrific that his National Security Advisor, Sandy Berger, would risk everything to steal and destroy top-secret documents.

...The Vietnam War.  He protested against America in a foreign nation.

...National Security.  Clinton/Gore had eight years and numerous opportunities to neutralize bin Laden and to punish those who unleashed a series of murderous, terrorist attacks against Americans, but did nothing (call the 9-11 Commission--there's your smoking gun!).

...The Economy.  After unsuccessfully trying to socialize medicine, he supported Republican-sponsored Welfare Reform, presided over a number of corporate scandals as they occurred (which are now coming to light), and left America in the early stages of a recession.

...Foreign Nations Undue Influence on American Policy.  China-gate.

3) The Democratic Party must lie to have a chance to win.

The election will turn upon to what extent the Democrats can deceive the American electorate.

The Democrats must convince us this week that they are not what they are: "Lefter than Left."

Kerry and Edwards are the first and fourth most liberal members of the Senate.  The Party as a whole has become socialist, statist, condescending, and amoral.  It is without conscious, calling good "evil" and evil "good."  It espouses ideologies contrary to America's political and moral founding.  As rule, the Democratic Party demonizes, dismisses, and tries to shame into silence those who espouse the Christian religion.

One recurring Democratic theme is that President Bush "lied us into war."  The ironic thing is that they lie when claiming this, and the great tragedy (and treason) of it is that their political success depends upon America's failure.

As revealed recently, Joseph Wilson lied about Saddam's efforts to acquire enriched uranium from Africa (he did), and he lied about his wife's influence in getting him the job (she did).

Notably, Iraq's Allawi recently stated that they've been gathering intelligence that indicates Saddam sent his WMD out of the country before and during the war (no doubt while President Bush was trying for a year to "isolate" us from the UN).

One can only hope that the American people see Kerry and his ideological bedfellows for what they are, so that they're "so Left, they're gone."

The essence of American Liberty is the belief that government derives its power from the consent of the governed, not that we exist to support it.

Socialists (and apparently many Democrats) would make us slaves. They would have our people become even more dependent upon the State than we already are.
